Only the PC version is really capable of doing that, and a Switch version would be like the 3DS where there's an in-engine creation tool, but obviously nothing as advanced as the PC's capabilities.īasically, it's not Nintendo's fault about the lack of RPG Maker support, and it probably wouldn't be worth the time if you already had the PC version. One of the appeals of RPG Maker is being able to create and import your own assets, and make a game unique. On top of that, if RPG Maker DID get Switch support, it would be it's own desperate version of RPG Maker (similar to how it was done recently on 3DS) which, in my opinion, isn't quite worth the time. So it's really up to the RPGM team to approach Nintendo about the idea, not the other way around. RPG Maker/the Company and Nintendo have just about nothing to do with each other, and let's face the facts that RPG Maker isn't that big of a game (if you want to even call it that.) Nintendo is a lot more focused on getting BIG games out for the Switch, not something as small (in comparison) as RPG Maker. 2) The only Nintendo console with any sort of RPG Maker support, currently, is the 3DS, which has it's own separate version of RPG Maker.ģ) So, no, nothing on Wii U for RPG Maker either.
